Raka
Mukherjee is one of India's most prominent vocalists. She
underwent a rigorous training in Indian classical music from
the age of six years, under well-known teachers including Sri
Sachin Roy, Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh, Pandit Kala Chand Lahiri
and renowned musicologist Pandit Kumar Prasad Mukherjee. This
training equipped her with a deep understanding of ragas and
the ability to present them with both emotion and discipline.
Raka is adept in Indian classical and semi-classical forms ranging
from Kheyal and Thumri to Dadra and Bhajan.
The combination of Raka's technical skill with her beautiful
voice has made her an "A" grade artist of All India Radio and
Television, and she is regularly featured on radio and television
networks. She has performed at many high-profile events in India
and her international concerts in Europe have met with wide
critical acclaim. |

6-Day Workshop
An intensive study course in Hindustani classical music. Raka
Mukherjee will be instructing participants on advanced voice
technique and control. She will focus upon assisting the participant
in developing the finer aspects of presentation in classical
singing, as well as developing insight into the unique characteristics
pertaining to individual ragas.
